How the test works

The test measures your blood for an antibody called IgE, a specific marker of the allergic disease process. When the results are positive, the levels of IgE for specific allergy triggers, such as pollen, house dust mite, or cat dander, are reported. Using this information (along with a physical examination and case history), your doctor can diagnose the cause of your symptoms and tailor treatments that will help you feel better.
